Cairn Hill in Ooty is a great spot for a refreshing nature walk. The trail features tall and magnificent moss-covered trees, chirping birds, and obvious signs of rich wildlife. It hosts one of the oldest Cyprus tree plantations, raised in the 1860s. Importantly the microclimate here manifests a dip in temperature with respect to the ambient temperature outside. Don't miss the interpretation center, hanging rope bridge and the British Era watchtower.

We had a most memorable and very informative trek in Cairn hill, we tried this first time and eager to visit many more treks, The guides were very polite and friendly. They ensured our safety and provided a supportive experience throughout our trek. They thoughtfully arranged for female guides to assist any female trekkers. Despite our last-minute booking, the team efficiently made all necessary arrangements and adapted the schedule to suit our needs. Along the way, they shared fascinating insights on the tribal traditions and culture of Ooty. We were also surprised with a goodie bag containing a cap, paper, pen, snacks and juice. Additionally, there are a variety of trekking options with different difficulty levels which can be chosen based on our conveniency. This is a wonderful initiative by the Tamil Nadu government. We look forward to more such enriching activities in the future.
