Longwood Shola Reserve forest is a Ramsar site consists around 40 species of trees, several reptiles, 14 frogs species and 14 birds that are endemic to the western ghats. Notable species in the region are Nilgiri Laughing Thrush (Strophocincla cachinnans), the Nilgiri blue robin (Myiomela major), the Nilgiri wood-pigeon (Columba elphinstonii), Black and orange fly catcher. The trekking route features various landscapes, from marshes, grasslands and streams along the Shola ( a tropical montane forest). One can unwind in the lap of nature rejuvenating themselves with forest bathing and soaking in all the goodness all along the trail.
