The nice part of this trek is that you can enjoy the waterfalls at 3 levels: The Mid-level falls near the beautiful temple area up the mountain; Upper falls all the way, when you reach the top; The Lower falls accessible through the stairs, we did that at the last part of the Hike. There are streams along the way with crystal clear water that tastes so fresh (, so do not carry water); There are a few lookout points, that offer beautiful views of mountain landscape. The Forest department staff are certainly very friendly. Our guide, Pandi explained about all the flora that cover the area. The hike is certainly refreshing to connect with nature and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the mountain landscape and the falls. If you are in and around the Madurai area, do not miss this!!
Explored Kutladampatti falls/ Thadagai trail on 4/11/24. It as a wonderful experience hiking through the reserved forest. Mr. Vellaipandi and Mr. Poovendran were my guides who very helpful and resourceful. We hiked after the rains- hence I was lucky to see a lot of insects, reptiles, birds, lots of butterflies. Was able to see wide variety of plants/ beautiful flowers in the trek. It was well organized by the team and forest department who were all very helpful. The air and water in the forest area is pristine.I was able to take a dip in the upper part of the falls which was an amazing experience. Would recommend wearing full sleeves with shoes and repellents to stay away from mosquitoes. Would strongly recommend to all nature lovers.
The trek to Kutladampatti was an incredible experience. The area was well-maintained, clean, and tidy, and the guides were friendly and attentive. Hot, ready-to-eat Poha was served, and it tasted amazing—definitely worth every penny. The water was crystal clear, and the sound of the flowing stream was absolutely breathtaking. We’re proud to say we were the first trekkers to explore this place, and everything was thoughtfully organized.
