Camp Sethumadai is an ecotourism initiative under the Tamil Nadu Forest Department, operated by the Tamil Nadu Wilderness Experiences Corporation (TNWEC). Located in the foothills of the Anamalai Tiger Reserve, the camp offers an eco-friendly stay in non-permanent, air-conditioned tent structures. Surrounded by birdlife, quiet landscapes, and a tropical climate, Sethumadai provides a peaceful nature experience. Managed by local communities and powered by sustainable practices, the camp also serves as a base to explore nearby forest areas and trekking routes.
Who We Are
Camp Sethumadai is an ecotourism initiative under the Tamil Nadu Forest Department, operated by the Tamil Nadu Wilderness Experiences Corporation (TNWEC). Established in 2021, TNWEC is the State Government’s enterprise for promoting responsible wilderness experiences across Tamil Nadu. Following the strong public response to Trek Tamil Nadu, TNWEC expanded its initiatives to include Camp Sethumadai, offering nature-based stays that support conservation and sustainable tourism.
