I recently went on a trek I had only booked the night before at around 7 p.m., feeling a bit skeptical since I’d be going solo. But the experience far exceeded my expectations. The guides, Punitharaj, Leo, and Manikandan, accompanied me, and I never felt bored for a moment. They were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, sharing unique fruits and herbs from the mountain, and even acted as my personal photographers, capturing amazing shots along the way. The food was a standout as well – I had expected something average, but it was well above par. Though the guides were from the interiors, they were impressively in touch with pop culture and social media, which made for great conversation. Even with my limited understanding of Tamil, they went out of their way to ensure I felt included and understood. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that I would recommend to anyone considering a trek, even at the last minute!
Awesome, fantastic, professional!!! We were the first to go on this trek as part of the trails released by Trektamilnadu.com, an initiative of the TN govt. We went as a family of 3. First impression was that the guides seemed to have been well trained and there was some sense of professionalism in the whole arrangement. The trek was simply fantastic... As is the case with all treks, the journey itself is the destination... So it didn't matter after we reached the returning point of Perumalmudi. While the views were scenic and breathtaking, what made the whole thing endearing was that the guides (all young boys from Sembukarai) were not just professional but also extremely sincere, caring and enthusiastic. More than being guides, we felt like they were hosting us as guests in their home. Punitharaj, Tejas, Manikandan V, Manikandan C and Rangasamy were the five guides who accompanied and took care of us. They made the trek not just more doable but also more enjoyable. Thanks to them we had a wonderful time. Now we have to check out all the other trails. Thank you TN govt.
