Have you ever experienced the wilderness of Ooty? The enchanted forests of Ooty has kept some secrets from the colonial era, one such best kept secret is that of Mukuruthi fishing hut inside Mukuruthi National park. It is around 42 kilometers away from Ooty town. After passing Parson’s valley one reaches Pothmund dam from where the trek starts. It’s an easy trek which takes almost 3 hours to reach the hut. Mukuruthi lake is just in front of the hut, where one could unwind and walk back after savouring all the beauty around.

We had an amazing experience. It was a perfectly paced trek. One of the hidden gems. One must experience this wonderful trek with lush green forests, beautiful valleys, river crossings and some wild animal sightings. Mr Gopi was very informative, humble and caring through out the trek. Along with him nandakumar and pushpa raj were helpful too. Cons : Food is not up to the mark for the fee that is charged. Also no accommodation is provided, it becomes difficult to travel from ooty early morning.
