Welcome to the Hill station of Yercaud, located in Salem district, Tamil Nadu. Alight at Nagalur village, where the adventure begins. Step onto the Sanniyasimalai trail in the company of Guides and you can have a wholesome experience of trekking through the Eucalyptus plantations and verdant Shola Forest patch to reach the fern-covered mountain viewpoint. Admire the rich biodiversity, the rocky peaks, Mettur dam-view and the valley beneath while breathing in the misty mountain air. You'll be delighted to know that this peak is the origin point of the Sarabanga river, a tributary of the Cauvery.

Things to remember before you book a trek

Wholesome Experience!!!!
In our trip to Yercaud, we went for trekking to Nagalur - Sanniyasimalai Peak which was really great experience and we completely enjoyed the trekking. The view points in this trek is a delight to watch. And our guides @Manoj and @Mahendiran helped us throughout the trek and explained about the flora and fauna. Thanks to TN govt and Forest Dept for this initiative and special thanks to our Guides @Manoj and @Mahendiran for the wonderful trekking experience.
A Mistic Walk!!!
We opted for 11 am treck on 23.12.2024. While climbing up the day was misty and felt like we were walking through the clouds. Our guides Mr Prashanth and Mr. Rajesh were very helpfull and taught us a lot about the local fauna and flora as we passed by. Also gave us ample rest as we were trecking with a 6 year old and 3 year old. This route is beginner friendly. On our way down the mist started clearing and we were able to enjoy the scenic views it provided. It is a definite must try for anyone's trip to Yercaud. Thanks Tamil nadu government and Forest department for taking up this initiative.
Little hidden gem!
This trek is short and sweet. Trail was very clear and easy one... When i went, the viewpoint was completely covered in mist and yet it was absolutely wonderful. Guides knew the area very well, explained the flora & fauna of the area throughout the trek. Forest officials were very friendly and focused on trekker's safety. Finally thanks to the govt of tamilnadu for the initiative!
wonderful trekking
completed my first trekking on 10.11.2024 nagalur too sanniyasimalai peak. it was a great experience for me and my 11 year old boy, he enjoyed a lot and learned many things about nature Mr. subash and Mr. rajesh explained very well. friendly approach and support by them , view point was amazing .very impressive and warm welcomed by mr. tamilarasan. received trek kit from mr.murugan, he guided us very well. every one try this trek at least one time in life. thanks to tamil nadu forest department and taminadu government for this initiative. whole heartly thanks to officials and all team keep doing and proudly we can that we have a great trek experience in our native cities.

10.11.2024 we completed our nagalur to sanniyasimalai peak trek , It was amazing experience trekking in forest. very friendly support officials Mr. tamil arasan and guide Mr.subash and Mr.Rajesh make this trek wonderful ; our kids also enjoyed a lot during trek and learned about nature completely new experience for this generation kids. thanks to Tamilnadu government and Tamilnadu forest department for this initiative.
