This is certainly a nice short hike to take if you are visiting the Courtallam / Tenkasi area; It is clean, peaceful, quiet, devoid of all the crowd and littering; Since this is protected and managed by Tamil Nadu Forest Department, it stays that way for a good reason; Remember to book in advance, so you can enjoy this natural beauty; A quick hike up the mountain, presents the views Courtallam and surrounding areas; As you hike through the green mountain area, you reach the falls. The Falls is beautiful and the taste of water is refreshing; You could almost meditate sitting beside the falls, just silence and the sound of water. There is a quiet temple beside the falls ideally situated amid the natural setting. The entire trail is green and the walk is rejuvenating. Guide Kannan was great and gave a lot of good information about the trees and animals that inhabit the area. Include this in your agenda, if you are visiting the area for sure.
Last Sunday, my two friends and I completed a trek in the 7 AM slot. Despite moderate overnight rain around Courtallam and Tenkasi, which lasted until 5 AM, we proceeded as the guide assured us the water levels were safe. After completing the paperwork, we began the trek at 7:30 AM with a guide. Due to the high water levels at Shenbaga Devi Falls, we couldn't visit the Avvaiyar Temple. The trek, covering 4.5 kilometers, took around 3 hrs. The weather was pleasant, and the heavy water flow at the falls was mesmerizing. As always, the guide ensured our safety throughout the journey, making it an enjoyable and memorable experience.
First , I have to appreciate Tamilnadu forest for doing this wonderful initiative, This is fantastic chance for those who love to explore the forest and enjoy the nature, this initiative gives us chance to enjoy nature with experienced guides and safty. Shenbagadevi trial: its a very very small trek, even we will finish this trek before we start to sweat, trek charges can be reduced like this small trek, Its not very satisfying for the trekkers who did lot of other trials, but its a experience, falls was nice and temple nearby give you immense satisfaction. Can be extended upto thenaruvi. Guides are friendly and strict in following rules. Its very good to keep the forest clean and neat.
It was a nice experience we had with this trekking. Thanks for the arrangement
