We as a couple booked this trek and it was an awesome experience. We received a confirmation sms with contact number and a call from the trektamilnadu office on the day before trek. We reached the forest ranger office at 8am, after filling out the declaration forms, from there our guide Mr.Manoj took us to the trek starting point. We parked our car on the starting point. The trek started with a small slope elevation and went into the forest. There are 3 virwpoints looking over shola orest, shervorayan hills and yercaud hills. MR.Manoj was a polite and calm guide, he explained to us about flaura and fauna in the region. MR.Manoj shown us different mushroom species, berry plants, kurunji plants. At the end of the trek there is a place filled with the RAREST CARNIVORE plant DROSERA. We also saw multiple bird species, indian gaur. TrekTamilnadu provided caps, goodies bag with snacks, juice and info leaflet about the bird species found.
In our trip to Yercaud, we went for trekking to Nagalur - Sanniyasimalai Peak which was really great experience and we completely enjoyed the trekking. The view points in this trek is a delight to watch. And our guides @Manoj and @Mahendiran helped us throughout the trek and explained about the flora and fauna. Thanks to TN govt and Forest Dept for this initiative and special thanks to our Guides @Manoj and @Mahendiran for the wonderful trekking experience.
We opted for 11 am treck on 23.12.2024. While climbing up the day was misty and felt like we were walking through the clouds. Our guides Mr Prashanth and Mr. Rajesh were very helpfull and taught us a lot about the local fauna and flora as we passed by. Also gave us ample rest as we were trecking with a 6 year old and 3 year old. This route is beginner friendly. On our way down the mist started clearing and we were able to enjoy the scenic views it provided. It is a definite must try for anyone's trip to Yercaud. Thanks Tamil nadu government and Forest department for taking up this initiative.
This trek is short and sweet. Trail was very clear and easy one... When i went, the viewpoint was completely covered in mist and yet it was absolutely wonderful. Guides knew the area very well, explained the flora & fauna of the area throughout the trek. Forest officials were very friendly and focused on trekker's safety. Finally thanks to the govt of tamilnadu for the initiative!
